1. Right to make changes to the agreement

These terms and conditions can change at any time at the discretion of the Board of Trustees or HeartSync Ministry staff. Updates will be posted here. 

2. User Guidelines (Rules, Restrictions and requirements)

As a condition of use, you promise not to use the services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, or any other purpose not reasonably intended by HeartSync Ministries. By way of example and not as a limitation, you agree not to use the services:

1. To abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate any person; 

2. To post or transmit, or cause to be posted or transmitted, any content that is libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, offensive, profane, or that infringes any copyright or other right of any person; 

3. To communicate with HeartSync Ministry representatives or other users in an abusive or offensive manner; 

4. For any purpose (including posting or viewing content) that is not permitted under the laws of the jurisdiction where you use the services. 

5. To post or transmit, or cause to be posted or transmitted, any communication designed or intended to obtain password, account, or private information from any HeartSync Ministry user; 

6. To create or transmit unwanted 'spam' to any person or any URL; 

7. To post any copyrighted content that does not belong to you, unless you provide appropriate attribution to the copyright owner and a link to the source of the content. 

3. Copyright and intellectual property

All HeartSync Ministry material is intellectual property and copyrighted by Andrew A Miller, LCSW. Unless you have written permission from him. 

4. Limitation of Liability

Participation or completion of any program or recorded seminar or mentoring series does not qualify you, the participant, to use the modality in your ministry or practice. The only people who have permission to use the HeartSync Ministry modality are ones who have been given a certificate that designates them as a Qualified HeartSync Minister or Certified HeartSync Minister.

By using our services you hereby release HeartSync Ministries, and any individuals involved in the HeartSync Prayer Ministry Programs from any liability for any harm or perceived harm resulting from your free and voluntary participation in any part of this HeartSync Ministry process. This process includes but is not limited to teachings, receiving prayer ministry, facilitating prayer ministry, interceding or observing other people involved in receiving, facilitating, interceding, observing, or otherwise involved in this HeartSync Prayer Ministry process.  You also take full responsibility for your use of what you have learned in this training and/or your use of any materials received in the programs understanding that HeartSync Ministries does not endorse your use of these programs outside their established parameters and do hereby release HeartSync Ministries from any and all responsibility.

You understand that:

HeartSync Prayer Ministry is done on a voluntary basis and is not a professional service. 

Volunteers represent the broad body of Christ and reflect many denominations and churches. 

This ministry does not provide counseling, therapy, medical, or mental health services.

You understand that if you are under the care of or receiving treatment from any medical or mental health care professional, you will not modify or terminate any treatment you are receiving, that is prescribed from any such medical or mental health care professional, including any therapy or medication, without first consulting with that medical or mental health care professional. You understand and agree that should you modify or terminate any treatment you are receiving or that is prescribed from any medical or mental health care professional, including any therapy or medication with or without consultation with that medical or mental health care professional, you do so at your own risk and hold HeartSync Ministries and those participating in this HeartSync Prayer Ministry process as harmless for any injury or damage suffered as a result of your decision.  you understand that if you are currently taking any medication, or operating under the advice of professional service, youI will allow them (your medical doctor, therapist, counselor, etc.) to confirm any results of prayer ministry received before altering any prescribed course of action. 

You understand that this program is the sole property of HeartSync Ministries.  All content will be held in confidence for the sole purpose of the HeartSync Prayer Ministry mentoring process.  

As HeartSync Ministries is based in Florida, you have been told and understand that, under Florida law, if you should disclose to any person involved in the HeartSync Prayer Ministry process that you intend to harm yourself or others, or if you have engaged in abuse of a child, mentally ill person, or vulnerable adult, this information will be disclosed to the appropriate authorities.  Moreover, although the persons involved in the HeartSync Prayer Ministry process will strive to maintain the strictest of confidentiality, you also understand that, because HeartSync Prayer Ministry is offered as prayer ministry and not as a professional counseling practice, neither HeartSync Ministries nor individuals practicing HeartSync Prayer Ministry routinely keep detailed records and so will not provide information for lawyers or for disability claims.

Trust and confidence of prayer ministers are of the utmost importance in this ministry. Therefore, the confidentiality of any personal information must be maintained and remain within the context of the group in which it is shared, whether in the smaller prayer group, or the larger mentoring group with verbal permission.

5. Termination of accounts/service

Accounts and services can be suspended or terminated by either party. 

a). By you:

 You can terminate your subscription and delete your account at any time. Such termination and deletion will result in the deactivation or disablement of your account and access to it, and the deletion of content you collected through the use of the services.

Terminations are confirmed immediately, and you will not be charged again for that subscription unless you purchase a new one. If you have purchased a program you are still responsible for full payment of the program even if you chose installments, unless you are terminating these Terms for any of the following reasons: (a) we have materially breached these terms and failed to cure that breach within 30 days after you have so notified us in writing; (b) a refund is required by law; or (c) we, in our sole discretion, determine a refund is appropriate. For clarity, we will not grant a refund where you have used our services, collected responses, and/or downloaded your responses unless the termination is due to our material, uncured breach, or a refund is required by law.  

b). For cause

HeartSync Ministries may suspend performance or terminate your subscription for any of the following reasons: (a) you have materially breached these terms and failed to cure that breach within 30 days after HeartSync Ministries has notified you in writing; (b) you fail to pay fees for 30 days past the due date. 

Additionally, HeartSync Ministries may limit, suspend, or terminate the services to you: (i) if you fail to comply with these terms, (ii) if you use the services in a way that causes legal liability to us or disrupts others' use of the services; or (iii) if we are investigating suspected misconduct by you. Also if we limit, suspend, or terminate the services you recieve, depending upon the reason, we will endeavor to give you advance notice and an opportunity to obtain a copy of your content from that service. However, there may be sensitive situations where HeartSync Ministries may decide that we need to take immediate action without notice. HeartSync Ministries will use commercially reasonable efforts to narrow the scope and duration of any limitation or suspension under this section as is needed to resolve the issue that prompted such action. HeartSync Ministries has no obligation to retain your content upon termination of the applicable service. 

5. Community Agreement

Every person who seeks prayer ministry is made in the image of God. Therefore, they have immeasurable value and worth.

As an ecumenical healing community, we are dedicated to spiritual, emotional, physical and relational healing in a supportive environment. We do this through walking in love, offering and inviting opportunities to grow in maturity, to heal brokenness, and to practice connections with God and others.

It is important to realize and acknowledge that we will be in sharing relationships where we are getting to know and be known by others. Ministry cannot exist without trusting relationships where connection exists. When there is a lack of connection, there will also be a lack of trust. While conflicts, old wounds and new bruises are inevitable, we must choose to walk in unity and be community to others.

So, what does a HeartSync Healing Community look like?

We each personally strive to...

• Be dependent on God, centered in Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
• Gracefully accept and submit to the spiritual authority placed over us.
• Actively pursue a relationship with God, serve the community through prayer, and continue in the personal process of being “transformed by the renewing of our mind.”        Romans 12:2
• Tend to the healing of our own hearts, as well as the hearts of others.
• Be accountable to others in community - be able to both hold and be held to Christ’s standard, in conduct as well as loving relationship.
• Think and assume the best of others.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Refrain from gossip. 

We define gossip as speaking, listening to, and/or relating information that will change the opinion of another towards someone else or facilitate prejudicial judgements.

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32.

• Address differences with each other in a loving, timely and forthright manner. This includes being open to communication and working offenses out in a timely manner, instead of letting them go unchecked or not addressing them. Remember, “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.” Ephesians 4:24. This does not necessarily mean you must deal with it the same day you are triggered. But it is important to make sure you circle back to check and see if healing or help is needed. 
• Follow the Biblical outline for conflict resolution.

“First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” - Matthew 7:5.

• Look at yourself first. Your Guardian, in order to protect you, may have retaliated. Look for it and own it if applicable. Spend time with your Guardian to find out what the trigger may have been, what was at stake, and/or what were you protecting. Determine what emotion is coming from past experiences. Check to see if you are blaming everything on the other person.

“If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”  -Matthew 5:23-24

• As the Holy Spirit reveals areas where relationships need to be mended, make it a priority to resolve these issues quickly. Take responsibility for your part and go to them in humility and seek reconciliation and restoration. For those who are chronically taking the blame, be careful of that pattern and learn to speak up, in love for what was not your part in the matter.

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his offense, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he still refuses to listen to even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.”  - Matthew 18:15-21

• First, speak to the person who offended or hurt you. 

If needed, Go to the mentoring group leader next. 

Most all situations should get resolved at these first two levels if we are truly in a loving community connection.

We respect one another…

• By allowing Jesus to be the healer.  He is the only Healer; we are merely the embodiment of Christ and the grace He gives.
• By adhering the “Two Person” Rule.  In having a Facilitator, Recipient and an Intercessor in each HeartSync session, we promote safety and trust with one another.
• In honoring vulnerability.  Many individuals carry trauma in their heart that no one sees. As we work together, we each take the risk of being vulnerable. There is a sacred honor of dropping into deep emotional places with someone. 

• By being responsible for our own actions, as well as frailties.  In order to best guard our own hearts, we each must assume the responsibility of speaking and disclosing what is personally needed to feel safe. Others are not mind-readers. It is not reasonable to expect something without sharing what is needed and giving others the chance to respond. It is important to realize that others may not be able to meet our needs.

• Reflective Listening

“So I heard you say________. Did I hear that correctly? Did I get it right?”

• Attunement

“That must have been ________. I  feel your ________.”

• Affirmation

“I see where you may have come to that conclusion. Is there another possibility as well?”

• Clarification

“What do you mean by ________?”

• Contrast

“You seem to think I said ________, but what I meant was ________.”

• Speaking from the “I” perspective, instead of the you

Identify the hurt, allowing Original Self to speak with compassion & clarity.

We believe the best possible healing happens when we are in a community of connected, caring individuals. Healing is accelerated through heart connections built on confidentiality, trust and love.

Because a healing community is made up of people of varying levels of relational capacity, we understand that no one can adhere to these principals perfectly. As we encourage one other and work together to create a healthy, caring community, it is our sincere desire to help each individual grow in relational capacity towards the end of living the scriptural principles as outlined in this agreement.
